Impact Goals: To provide services, resources, and community connection to our unhoused community members. Council is providing these services, resources and a sense of belonging to our whole community to support our efforts to end homelessness in Clark County.
Every January, Council for the Homeless and its community partners come together to support our unhoused community members by facilitating a day of service. The day starts with the Point in Time Count (PIT) facilitated by Council staff and dozens of volunteers who go out across Clark County before sunrise to count as many of our unhoused community members as possible.
As the count ends, our unhoused community members are directed to the site of our day-long PHC event. Volunteers, service providers, and community-based organizations come together in one location to offer free services that may otherwise be hard to come by. Those services include a nutritious meal, eye exams, foot and wound care, a clothing closet, and face-to-face meetings with community-based organizations and their staff. These organizations provide behavioral healthcare, housing, shelter, and clinical assessments.
