What you need to know: Eviction moratorium and rent relief
Beginning July 1, through September 30, 2021, a moratorium bridge is in place. “The bridge is not an extension of the existing eviction moratorium; rather it makes provisions for renters and landlords until resources and programs become available.” This is different than the previous moratorium, but still has a lot of protections for tenants.
Below is information translated in four languages on the new tenancy preservation bridge proclamation. If you are concerned about being evicted or need help talking to your landlord, call the Clark County Volunteer Lawyer’s Program: 360-334-4007.
Tenants are encouraged to work with their landlords on repayment plans as soon as possible. Remember: you are still responsible to pay back rent from the moratorium, so if you’re having trouble making that work, the Treasury Rent Assistance Program may be a resource for you.
The Treasury Rent Assistance Program is intended to provide assistance to households who have experienced a loss of income and are at risk of homelessness or currently experiencing housing instability, due to COVID-19. To find out how and when to apply for Treasury Rent Assistance, click here.
